Thurs Happy New Years Eve

Another 1/2 day at work today. We all get to go at noon.
It's New years Eve and we have a Full Blue Moon tonight. Great night to stay in and be safe from the crazies.
Time to think of my resolutions for the upcoming year.
Deb sent me home. Told me to go home and get completely well and return on Monday. It made me cry. But I will take their advise and do just that.
Got home and called The Ugly Duck to let them know Bill will be picking up the door. I also called DRS and left Jim a 3rd call back message. They may be closed today because of the holiday.
Decided that the best day to install the new door would be Saturday. We will need to buy the stain and find some rags before then.
The days of going out on New Years Eve and rabble rousing is pretty much over for us. Michael has put a fire in the fireplace and I put on my pajamas that I got for Christmas so we are ready for a night of tv/movie watching and enjoying just being together.

Wednesday Dec 30

Back to work today. Kind of nervous and don't know what to expect. Taking in everyone's presents. I guess they would be Happy New Year gifts now.
It snowed a little bit. Not enough to worry about.
Michael took me to work. It was so great seeing everyone again. Worked for a little over 1/2 a day. Tired me out. Thought I could last longer than that. But it was great to be there.
We stopped and got Zipps on NW Blvd on our way home to take home for lunch. Worst burger I have ever had - definitely not worth the money. It was soggy and tasteless. I think I will write them an email about our experience.
Joyce's husband, Bill, has agreed to pick up the door and install it. Yeah! Another chore we can mark off our list. He came by today and measured and will deliver and install door tomorrow.

Tuesday Dec 29

I slept upstairs last night on one of the Craftmatic beds so I could keep my head elevated. I coughed so much it took forever to go to sleep.

But today the cough has disappeared. On the way to the doctor we stopped at the bank and deposited the escrow return check, which was a nice surprise to receive in the mail. Then off to my doctor appointment. Heartbeat - perfect, blood pressure - normal. He took me off of 2 of the medicines and cut one to once a day. I got a script for 6 more massage therapies and a go back to work release. A very productive appointment.

Michael took me to Round Table Pizza for lunch. We ordered salad bar and a small King Arthur with shrimp and light sauce. That's our favorite. While we were eating lunch they put the pizza on an elevated wire holder. Neither of us noticed how much it was leaning. I reached for a second piece of pizza and the pizza pan (in slow motion) slid off the rack, flew through the air and landed on the floor. The manager was so nice and wanted to make us another pizza to take home. We just laughed and told her no thanks and sorry that we messed up her floor.

After lunch we had an hour to kill before Michael's doctor appointment with the same doctor as me. So we stopped at Hastings. I found 2 used books. One was Taste of Home Cake Mix Creations and The Impatient Beader. Plus they gave me an instant $2.00 off coupon.

BJ and Jacob flew in today. So tonight we will visit with them. Me for just a short time.

Sure hope we do not get the snow they are predicting. They said 1 to 2 inches, which isn't too bad, but, we are becomming so spoiled with these long intervals betweens storms.

Monday Dec 28

Looks like I am home for one more day. The cough I contracted in hospital hell has escallated and the swelling of the feet has made them unrecognizable. Will this ever end? So maybe I can be released to go back tomorrow when I go see my own doctor. It just killed me to call off today knowing how busy we are going to be. I have found a cardiologist that I want to be referred to. I am hoping he is taking new patients.
I was in luck and he is taking on new patients. My appoinment is January 6th.
Spent most of the day watch the LA Ink marathon. I used to love Kat and always rooted for her when she was on Miami Ink. I was surprised to see how fame has changed her. I guess that was bound to happen, but, maybe she should pull those old episodes of Miami Ink where Ari made her feel pretty low and made her cry so she can see she is no better than him these days.
I made enchiladas, but, we didn't eat them. Michael's Mom sent over dinner for Michael and I wasn't hungry, especially for anything that spicy. So now dinner is ready for tomorrow. And since tomorrow will be busy with doctor appointments, maybe work and BJ & Jacob flying in I won't feel much like cooking.

Sunday Dec 27

Up early because I went to bed early. Made breakfast and finally got all the ornaments off the tree. Watched an episode of Martha and an episode of HGTV Holmes on Homes.
I have spent the day doing very little. Resting up for my back to work day tomorrow. We did watch Star Trek. It was good. I did sleep through part of it, but, saw most of it.

Saturday Dec 26

Next year I am going to number the days on the blog like I did the year ago last.
Today we take down the tree and get back to normal. Except for the new this year sock monkey ornament. Michael wants to keep that on his desk. I will miss using the lighted tree as a pretty nightlight. I think we are still trying to decide if we are going to move our bedroom back upstairs, which means buying new mattresses and the fireplace. Then downstairs can expand into my studio and sewing/craft room.
We listened to the police scanner again last night. Everytime I heard someone being taken to Holy Family all I could think was they need to grab 2 decent pillows - one for your head to replace the paper thin one they give you to sleep with and one for the aching butt you're going to have and also grab a box of crackers, because for the first 2 days they are going to starve you. LOL!
We got out for a little while. Cold and sunny. Stopped at the furniture store but got a run around about the mattresses they had on sale. We then ventured down the road to Home Depot. Found the exact fireplace listed on the internet (see above link) for $20.00 cheaper. Thank you Kathleen. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Even had 3 guys to help load it into Spendy. We then stopped at my pleading at Pier One. It was crowded and I couldn't find what I was looking for. Decided I had enough excitement for the day we headed for home. Postal Annex is closed till Monday so I couldn't pick up my last shipped cd. We stopped at Safeway and got the few things we needed. McDonald's for lunch and then HOME.
Groceries put away, lunch ate while watching HGTV's Property Ladder. I need to wrap the few presents for my co workers to take Monday when I go back to work. Some more laundry and then lots of rest. Dinner tonight is Fish and Chips with Shrimp while watching the new Star Trek movie.

Merry Chistmas 2009 Dec 25

It was a nice quiet Christmas Eve here. We had our tamales and then took a nice long nap from 4:00 to 8:00. We got up and watched the movie It's A Wonderful Life. Never get tired of it.
We listened to the police scanner last night. It is amazing to me that on a night that should be peaceful and calm it is filled with crime and drama. When I woke around 3:00 they had a perimeter set up over on the eastside looking for some criminals. Then some mother was tearing up her home and breaking everything in sight with 2 little kids in the house. It's amazing what goes on out there.
Clear and cold today. I'm feeling better each day, but, know I should still take it easy because I am not out of the woods, as they would say. And so many pills to take each day now. I thought it was bad when I was taking 3 a day.
Spent the afternoon watching HGTV shows such as Holmes on Homes and House Hunters. Also watched the pilot of Full Throttle Saloon. Leftover tamales for lunch. Trying to remember to take all the new medicines. Also got the folk's newspaper and were looking at the ads. We are planning on buying new mattresses for the Craftmatic beds upstairs and an electric fireplace for the bedroom.

Thursday Dec 24 Happy Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve! It was so nice to sleep in my comfortable bed, quiet with no people talking or yelling, machines beeping, blood pressure cuff squeezing and butt wrenching pain. Makes you appreciate home all the more.
Not much on the agenda today. Will need to go and fill all the prescriptions. There are a few calls to make. But other than that relax and recoop and get well enough to return to work on Monday.
While waiting to be released from hospital hell I watched the movie Julie and Julia. It was a good movie. Very cute and great performances by Meryl Streep. I was so happy Michael brought me my laptop to surf and watch movies on.
Needed bills paid, tamales ordered for Michael to pick up, 2 loads of laundry going...now for rest...
Talked to my Aunt Louise in Orlando. It was so great to talk to my Godmother. One of these days I'm heading down south for a real life visit.

Wednesday Dec 23

I am hoping to be released from the hospital today. Not 100% sure yet, but it's looking good so far.

I am so grateful they sent me home this afternoon. I feel sorry for the people left behind in hospital hell.

Work gave me a bonus, plus gifts from bosses. Very sweet and also surprising. When we got home we had a big check from the mortgage company for overpaid escrow. Ho Ho Ho, there is a Santa Claus.

I'm feeling pretty lucky and blessed. Happy Holidays to all whatever you celebrate.

Monday Dec 21

After a night of tossing and turning I woke up ill. It is a terrbile thing when you finally have to admit you are sick. So if my regular doctor won't or can't see me, I'm heading for Urgent Care. I hate that place. Full of rude receptionists, quack doctors and sick people. But I really need to find out what is wrong, its been going on for over a week.

Sunday Dec 20

I'm feeling a little better this morning, or, at least trying to convince myself this is so.

I started getting spam in my comments, so, like many others I have had to add the word verification and I also selected that anonoymous commentors can longer comment. Has this happened to many of you also?

Saturday Dec 19

I've been ill this last week off and on. But Friday I finally had to admit it and called in sick from work. I felt so bad to do that. Because of this bug, not the flu (no fever or chills) I cannot get my diabetes under control. I am so depressed. I have so much I wanted to do this weekend, but, it will just have to wait.

I have an intestinal bug, so I guess I will live. We have been tv watching Police Women of Broward County all afternoon.

Thursday Dec 17

I feel like so many of the blogs, FB comments and tweets out there. Disgusted, dissapointed and discouraged. Last election we worked to elect a democratic president and a democratic majority so they could get things done.

Now we are still waging two wars, depleting our national funds, bailing out corrupt businesses who do not plan on changing their ways and it is hard to see that there is any difference from the past 8 year administration.

This healthcare reform bill is a joke. You are going to force people to buy health insurance but give no public option? Sounds like a win win for the evil health insurance companies. No funds to help women? I swear if men could get pregnant birth control and abortion would have been written in the Declaration of Independence. When our we as women going to stand up and say enough is enough?

Don't even get me started on the evil politicians. Take Joe Liberman's chairmanship away. Why when he said he wanted to change and be a democrat again, did we just say No Thank You Joe - You Suck You Traitor and we don't want you back! He is only putting in his time until he can become a lobyist for the insurance companies. Palin - stupid bigot -GO AWAY! Bachman she should be impeached! I'm not saying their are not good politicians. Barbara Boxer is my hero. But there are few Bboxes around.

And the media...Just shut the fuck up! I have never understood how we decided to place value on people. A person who can play a game, throw a ball or play pretend or sing a song make millions and we care about there every move, but, hard working people like teachers, scientists, doctors, farmers, truckers, computer programmers and all others have little or no value. I don't care if Tiger Woods is on his 22 million yacht floating around thinking about his troubles, or if the newest hollywood couple have broke up...Who cares?

You make your bed you lay in it.

What I see each day are companies barely making ends meet, employees getting laid off and businesses all over town closing up. Maybe it is winter setting in. I keep hoping it will get better. My own company is cutting back and I hope they will keep me on since I was the last one that was hired.

But there are good things and things to be happy and grateful for. Maybe next post I will feel lighter and more optimistic. Maybe I will delete this post.

Sunday Dec 13

Yesterday we took the pups to the Yuppy Puppy to be groomed. After that we went to look at front doors for the house. Landed up at The Ugly Duck. We bought a mahogany wood door. Take a look and tell me what you think. We are looking a wood stains and trying to find one that is in a nice red range.

After that I went up to Des' shop Essence and got my hair done. This time I went a dark red with splashes of blonde. No pink.

No snow yet. They are saying tomorrow night we may get an inch.

Today I have alot of house chores to do. I need to wrap presents and bake some cookies. I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Please, my friends, click this link, look at those young faces, read the short narrative and pass it on. The more eyeballs that roll over the photo, the greater the chance that someone might recognize these young people.

Wednesday Dec 9

Still frightfully cold, but, bearable. Michael had turned the heat off this morning and when I got home the house was at 53 degrees. Once it warms up in here, since Michael will be getting home late, I plan to make some cookie batter and a batch of fudge. Maybe wrap some gifts and address some cards. I'm thinking that sounds pretty ambitious so I am not sure how much I will accomplish.

Monday Dec 7

Where did the weekend go? Is it back to work time already? It was 9 degrees when I woke up this morning. That's the kind of cold you just just want to pull the covers up and stay in bed all day.

Saturday Dec 5

Have not been feeling like myself the last few days. My boss sent me home right after the Christmas luncheon because my cheeks were blazing with fever.
Today I thought I would get out and finish my shopping, but landed up only going to Ace Hardware for the removable hooks (to hang the stockings) and Safeway (more prescriptions) and decided that was enough and headed for home. I spent the rest of the day in front of the fire watching sappy holiday movies.
Tomorrow I plan to finished addressing the holiday cards and get them mailed, wrap the presents already bought, finish the laundry and make cookies. If I get that all done, I'll be doing good.

Thursday Nov 26 Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I am truly thankful for all that I have and for all the family and friends in my life.

I'm up early. Lots of cleaning and cooking to do. I made the dressing last night. That's the hardest part.

We have 3 movies to watch over the holidays. I have decided not to do the early Black Friday sales this year. I will get out later in the day. Nothing I really need that bad that I want to stand the early winter chill.

I wishing you all my friends a very happy day full of feasting, festivities, football and most of all love and laughter.

Friday November 20

I woke from a nightmare this morning. I dreamed that my purse, cell phone and car was stolen from me and I was wandering around a wooded parking lot somewhere in Palo Alto, CA. The police picked me up and held me. I could not prove who I was. I kept saying call my husband, but, I could not remember his cell phone number.
I now will make it a mission to memorize his cell number and maybe his work phone number too.
I am glad it is Friday. Another gray gloomy day, but, no snow.
Pizza movie night tonight. We have 2 movies, In the Name of the King and Home for the Holidays. This weekend includes final shopping for Thanksgiving and scrubbing of house to make ready for the festivities.
Best Friday wishes to all.

Thursday November 19

Looking for lots of rain to begin this afternoon. Even with a mix of snow they say. Too warm I say. Will see.
I am slowly getting back into jewelry making. I took a break for a few months. I guess the creative juices were not flowing there for awhile.
I am a little of tired of politics right now. I'm beginning to think even the ones that are suppose to be on our side are really not and are only in it for their own financial gain and power enrichment. I know its always been there, but, when it gets so blatant it sickens me. But I also know if we don't stand up and fight, the evil ones win.
I'm still shocked that anyone would buy Sarah Palin's book, let alone stand in a line for hours to see her. Get serious, really? I don't get the message...Stupid, hate and bitterness sells? Again really? Why does Rush and his sheep want the country to fail? Well, Rush, I don't have millions, so I would love to see the country recover and prosper. That way I personally prosper. I'm tired of the hate and mean spiritness. I still believe in karma and random acts of kindness and beauty. Call me naive, but that's okay, I'll live here in my world.

Wednesday November 18

I am feeling so good today. Way better than yesterday. Full of big plans for the holiday. Besides scrubbing the house from top to bottom, there is a little more shopping to do and menu planning.
I am going to make 2 of the turkey roasts. One baked the regular way with butter and sage and the other one will be with a orange zinfandel glaze. We always have cornbread stuffing, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts and whole berry cranberry sauce, rolls and ambrosia salad. I am still on the lookout for the cherry-cranberry sauce recipe and the dinner roll recipe that does not require yeast. For dessert I want to make a mincemeat pie. I've never attempted that before but both Michael and I like that kind. But I will make a cherry pie too, just in case the mincemeat doesn't turn out. So those are the plans so far. What do you think?

Tuesday November 17

It's cold, gray and trying to rain outside. Just want to go home and put a fire in the fireplace and be lazy on the couch.

Last night we finally watched the movie Iron Man. Steve, you were right, it was a good movie. Tonight we are back to watching Dexter. We are on Season 3.

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Sunday November 15

It was a great weekend. Not much accomplished because it was so cold. Yesterday we had a fire in the fireplace and watched the latest Dexter disc.

We did get the remaining big air conditioner out of the dining room window removed and put in the garage. That will help keep the house warmer. We noticed cold air was whipping through it keeping most of the upstairs chilly. I guess winter is setting in early this year.

I've been planning my Thanksgiving meal this year. I'm still hoping we will eat at home and not go out. I still need to go to Albertson's and get the fresh turkey roast. I buy a turkey they de-bone and then roll into a roast. This way you get both the white meat, that Michael likes and the dark meat that I like. There has been rumblings about going to the casino again like last year. I hope not, but, we will see.

I ordered the first of the Yule gifts. Not much just a few things. Will order a few more this payday.

Hope everyone has a nice week ahead.

Friday November 13th

Had an apointment at lunchtime, but, made it back to the office before it started to snow. It is snowing but not sticking so far. Only have an hour to go before getting off work.

I'm thinking of making chili and cornbread for dinner. I might even stop and get a log for the fireplace. We will start watch Season 3 of Dexter tonight. I hope it is as good as Season 2.

Not much planned again for this weekend. More chores around the house. So boring I've become.

I hope where ever you are you are warm and content.

Sunday, November 8, 2009

Sunday November 8

With all the rain and wind most of our leaves around town are gone now. But I thought I would post one last autumn leaves picture.
We spent most of the day at home yesterday. I went through most of the paperwork that has been piling up on my desk. Last night we went out and bought "losing" Lotto tickets. We stopped in at Michael's friend Tim's house. He is renovating his entire house. He added an addition to the back of the house adding a master suite. So much work. It definitely convinced both of us to never even think about attempting anything so massive of a project. Our house is big enough for the 2 of us and the 2 dogs.
Today we are re-arranging the furniture for the holiday/fireplace season. This will include de-cluttering and sweeping and cleaning of floors. I do plan on baking some peanut butter cookies and some jewelry making. Maybe a quick outing to spend my $20.00 gift card at Kohls and buy some dog treats from Walmart.
I hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday.

Saturday, November 7, 2009

Saturday November 7

All in all it was a good week. I kept in budget, barely.

It was busy most of the week at work, but slowed down by end of week. Yesterday I took 1/2 a day off.

This weekend there are no big plans. Lots of projects around the house to work on. We still have 2 movies to watch, pot roast to cook, laundry to finish and a desk that needs clearing off.

Monday, November 2, 2009

Monday November 2

Was it ever busy today! Kept at it until it was time to go. I did leave 5 minutes early, but, I came in 1/2 hour early.

It's taco night here at the Spotted Moose. The movie tonight is Iron Man. It looked good from the previews. I hope I can stay awake for it.

Wishing everyone a nice evening and we will see what happens tomorrow.

Sunday, November 1, 2009

Sunday November 1

I simply can not believe it is November already. It seems like only a month ago it was the New year and I was making new year's resolutions. Well, I haven't gotten very far with them.

So now to look forward... This month a financial appointment where we will need to make decisions. Thanksgiving. We are still deciding to have dinner here at the house or go to the casino again. I want to do the dinner with all the trimmings here at home. But we will see how it all plays out.

Today is just a nice day at home. Catching up on laundry, shuffling through all the paperwork on my desk and baking some cookies for work and Michael's lunches for the week. I may even work on some bracelets and earrings if time allows.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

Wednesday October 28

Alone On A Broom

The sky surrounds me

Jupiter crowns me

The moon rides on my back

The wind sings to me,

The night rings through me

As I fly down the track

The trees zip past me

The stars all cast me

In silver shadows and light

I'll never do better,

Whatever the weather,

Than riding on Halloween night.

**Jane Yolen**

These days Halloween-Samhain makes me melancholy. I miss old friends that I have been unable to connect with. I miss the wild times of Halloween's past. I miss conversing and partying with like-minded people. I have not been able to make that connection here in Spokane. There have been some missed opportunities and I have only myself to kick for missing them. I don't know if it was from shyness or feeling intimidate by people with more advanced teachings. Plus I am not much of a "goer". I'm pretty much a homebody.

Tonight is Mexican steak night at the house. We have a Tommy Lee Jones movie to watch and plenty of books to read. My boss just lent me the Dean Koontz Frankenstein series. Which seems perfect for this time a year.

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Saturday October 17

It was a great week. We were super busy at work all week. Friday was best. For bosses day I brought flowers to my 2 lady bosses and talking cards for the all.

Today we have lots of projects planned. Going to get rid of all the empty boxes from the garage, clean the hall closet and just straighten the house. I need to start decorating for Halloween/Samhain. It will be here before we know it.

We have movies to watch and I am making potato leek soup for dinner.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Tuesday October 13

I'm sorry I have not written here much. It seems the days just go by so fast. I have so many projects on my list, but, not enough time to get them all done.

And now that we added Netflix, I want to watch the shows they send us. We have been watching the first season of Dexter. I'm definitely hooked. They shipped the classic movie Arsenic and Old Lace. One of my favorites for this time of year.

The weather has been bitterly cold. But it has been lovely seeing the trees turn to their magnificient fall colors. Houses are starting to put up their Halloween displays. I really love this time of year.

Went to Bead Frenzy last weekend. Michael went with me for the first time. It was alot of fun. This coming weekend is the annual Quilt Festival and Bead Stampede. I'm going to try and sneak over there and see what I can find that looks interesting.

Have a great week and I will try and get back here more often.

Monday October 5

Happy Blogoversary Steve. And many more.

It was a busy day at work, so time went by really fast. Cold morning with a mild and sunny afternoon. Fall is wonderful.

I've been spending alot of time playing around on Facebook. Lots of fun. Come and visit.

Hot meatloaf sandwiches for dinner while watching episode 2 on Season One of Dexter.

Have a fun Tuesday.

Sunday, October 4, 2009

Sunday October 4

The weekend is over. It has been cold and windy all weekend. I only left the house once this whole weekend. That was to go to the store and the library.

Our first 3 Netflix movies came on Friday. We watched In the Electric Mist with Tommy Lee Jones. It was from a James Lee Burke book. I loved it. We watched one episode on disc 1 of Dexter.

We watched alot of tv. That is about all. I had so much I wanted to accomplish, but, didn't. Maybe I needed a non-activity weekend.

Back to work tomorrow. 50's all week so I will need to pull out some warmer clothes.

Have a great week.

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Thursday Oct 1

I had a really nice birthday, even if I did have to work all day. Joyce brought in cupcakes to start the day off. For lunch we all went to King Yen. Their food is so good. They gave me all the leftovers and Michael had that for dinner. Lots of cards and nice birthday wishes and a check from the company.

I am glad today is Friday. One more day before the weekend. Hopefully we can get out and do some of the garage while the weather is nice and cool, before the rain comes.

I joined Netflix again. They have shipped our first 3 dvd's. In the Electric Mist with Tommy Lee Jones. This movie is adapted from one of my favorite author, James Lee Burke's books. And the first 2 dvds of the first season of Dexter.

Didn't win on Lotto Wednesday night. Tomorrow night it would be nice to win the $105 million.

Happy Friday to everybody.

Monday September 28

This is our last day of really nice weather. Tommorow it all turns to fall, which really isn't all that bad. Our fall season is so short up here in the Northwest. The leaves turn and then fall and then snow comes...but let's not rush that quite yet.

Today like most Mondays went pretty fast because we were so busy. End of the month is always busy. My boss was gone on a vacation day. I wore one of my new skirts because the weather was still nice.

We had left over lasagna tonight with salad. I have a 1/2 pan of it to freeze. Time to think soups, stoups and stews.

Tomorrow I have another chance at Mega Millions. $88 million. That would be nice, wouldn't it? Just to pay off the bills, house and cars would be heaven.

2 more days and I turn 57. Just doesn't seem possible.

Hope you all have a lucky Tuesday.

Saturday September 19

I spent the day at Loon Lake with family. The weather was a fall preview. Cool, breezy with a few sprinkles thrown in. Loved it! Had a lovely fried chicken dinner on the deck. Thanks Mom for all the hard work. And thanks Carol for cleaning up.

Monday September 14

Since I could not think of anything interesting to say, I found a meme I would like to play.
My task is now to make a list of seven things I like that does not include people.
1. Beading. I love creating beautiful things. Mixing glass, metal and wood using colors I could get lost for hours. Making a little bit of money doing so is great too.
2. My dogs, Lady and Sammie. They give me everlasting joy.
3. My car, a black KIA Optima named Jiffy. I love driving and have since the first time I sat behind the wheel of my Dad's Galaxy 500. I love to put the sun roof open, music on and just drive. Doesn't matter where, just go.
4. My job. I love what I do for a living. I love helping people. I love my little office surrounded by some of things I love, like the print Michael bought me and my pirate ship.
5. Blogging. I love posting pictures and writing what I feel like for the day. I have met some of the nicest people ever. Some even kindred..(you know who you are) and reading their posts have helped form some of my opinions more strongly.
6. Television. I am a child of the 50's and 60's and grew up watching television. Currently my favorite shows are True Blood, Operation Repo, Oprah, Keith O and Rachel and so many others.
7. Reading and collecting books. I have 5 bookshelves throughout the house filled with all kinds of books. Fiction, non-fiction, New Age, Cookbooks, Craft Books. Currently I am still reading Nine Lives by Dan Baum.
The meme says to tag 4 people:
Steve
Vikki
Lisa
Bob
Have a fantastic Tuesday.

Sunday September 13

We had planned on going to the county fair today, but, changed our minds. We spent alot of money yesterday and it is supposed to be in the 90's this afternoon so if we do decide to go it will be later this week.

I did get up early and went to the grocery store for the week before everyone is out of church and before it got too warm.

We watched the movie Heavens Prisioners and I made hot dogs for lunch. Then I took a well needed nap.

This afternoon I am working on jewelry. But you know where we will be at 6:00 - in front of the tv watching the finale of True Blood. It has been a great 2nd season. What will we watch while we are waiting for season 3 when it starts next September?

About the health plan debate.

I just don't understand that people don't get it. It's not free insurance for everyone - they will have to pay premiums for it.

The insurance you have through your employer would be better coverage than what you will be able to buy from a govt offered insurance plan. If you were comparing coverages like education, the difference would be like going to Stanford or going to a State College. This country thinks nothing of sending free medicine and health services all over the world, but, have a problem helping its own. I just shake my head.

Saturday September 12

The dogs did not have to go to The Yuppy Puppy till noon, so, I had time to sleep in and take it easy this morning. Michael went to work for a few hours.

We dropped the dogs off and then headed to Sears. We were hoping they had a Consumer Cellular kiosk there as their website had mentioned, but, all they had was a small display and unhelpful sales people who knew nothing of the product or plans. We wandered over to the tools and a really helpful sales guy sold me some Craftsman Jewelry Making Tools. And they were on sale and guaranteed for life.

We were hungry after that and couldn't decide where to eat. Drove around and finally decided on the new Phillipino place on Francis. It was just okay. The people were nice. In the same stip mall I went and rolled my Lotto ticket winnings into a new quick pick ticket for tonight's game.

After washing the car we also stopped at Michael's Crafts, and have they ever expanded their bead department! It was like going to mecca! LOL. Found and bought alot of new beads and findings to make some really cool things for my end of month show.

Friday September 11

My older dog, Lady, had a bad night last night. I took off from work and took her to the vet. He drew some blood work and gave her new medicine that seems to be making her feel so much better. This is good news.

Massage therapy appointment this afternoon. Thank you Barb! I am feeling a lot better than I did when I walked in this afternoon.

Stopped at KFC to bring dinner home. I'm ready to go to bed early since we did not get much sleep last night because of Lady's problems.

Have a happy Saturday.

Thursday September 10

Yesterday on my lunch hour I checked out a new store in town. DSW. A fabulous shoe store for both men and women. I bought a pair of flat gray felt boots. So cute, I cannot wait to wear them.

President Obama's speech was fabulous! It seems the 2 parties are so divided that they have forgotten why they are there. For the people...not for your party. I am almost sick of politics. I said almost. Today at lunch after going to the bank I found a shady spot and listened to the Ed Schultz show on the radio.

Michael's sister, Carol, and husband, Roger are expected to be in Spokane today. Plans for this evening is to make tacos. Weather is still behaving and staying beautiful. It is going to warm up over the weekend for the last of summer.
