Circle of starlight,
Circle of fire,

bright with desire.

Turning, turning,

Circle of wisdom,
Circle of love,
Silver with moonbeams
bright from above.

Circle of death,
Circle of re-birth,
Circle of the Mother Earth.

Shining, shining,
forever and ever.
Spinning, spinning,
ending never.

Weaving the threads
of the midnight hour.
Weaving the web of Goddess power.

AN YE HARM NONE, LOVE,

Day 110

Parilia

Date Apr 21 Every year

Description Parilia was a festival described in detail by Ovid in Fasti. It took place on April 21st and consisted of offerings of grains, cakes, and milk to the god of shepherds, Pales. It served as a festival for protection and fertility for farms.

The purpose of the festival was twofold. Originally, it was a pastoral festival to purify both sheep and shepherd. Later, the festival was recognized as the birthday of Rome, the day on which Romulus killed Remus and founded the city in 753 BCE. The Parilia is outstanding among Roman festivals as it incorporates both the rural and urban celebrations of Roman religion, and also incorporates elements from other festivals.

The origins of the Parilia are not entirely certain. The original festival itself is believed to predate the founding of the city. It is believed to have evolved from very early pagan celebrations of spring and fertility. It was originally a celebration of the deity Pales. The identity of Pales is somewhat obscure as well. It is unknown whether the deity was male or female, or even if it was intended to be a single deity or pair of deities. In the Fasti, Ovid invokes Pales as a singular female deity. Some identify certain statues of an elderly woman leaning on a shepherd staff as Pales, but others hesitate to make this claim, and believe no representations of Pales actually exist. Offerings were often made "sive deo sive deae." The association of the Parilia with Pales is, in fact, in doubt. However, references to the Parilia as the Palilia reinforce the association.

Started the day with a headache and it went down hill from there. One bad call after another. I am hoping tomorrow will be better.
I keep searching and hoping something that I would be more comfortable with will come along.
Fingers crossed.
Prayers said.
Must find the perfect spell.
Please let me find the way tomorrow.

Day 106

• Full Pink Moon
April This name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month’s celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn.

Simple Pink Candle Love Spell

Using a pink candle along with the following love spell is believed to attract your true love. To begin, you will need a new, never used pink candle, a white piece of paper and a pen in your favorite color. Sit in a peaceful spot where you will not be disturb and are free from other distractions. Try to clear your mind from all thoughts of the day and let your mind be open and free from all negativity. If you are not open to love, your spell will not work. Make sure that you remove all blocks from your mind and then you will ready to begin the love spell ritual:

On a Friday night, light your pink candle.

Write on a white piece of paper your first name and the last name of your intended lover.

Draw a circle around both names.

Close your eyes and focus on the two of you together. Visualize the happiness you will feel and the love you both will share.

Repeat the following spell three times: "Our fate is sealed. We are one so mote it be. It is done."

Keep watch over your pink candle for at least 15 minutes or if possible until it burns out. Always be sure that your candle is extinguished completely before leaving it unattended.

You may wish to use a large pink candle and repeat the spell every night for seven consecutive nights.

You can make the pink candle love spell as simple or complex as you wish. A spell can be customized any way you choose to fit your own specific needs

Pink is the color of universal love. Pink is a quiet color. Lovers of beauty favor pink. A pink carnation means "I will never forget you".

Day 104

Start of Willow Celtic Tree Month

The Willow moon was known to the Celts as Saille, pronounced Sahl-yeh. The Willow grows best when there's lots of rain, and in northern Europe there's no shortage of that this time of year. This is a tree associated with healing and growth, for obvious reasons. A Willow planted near your home will help ward away danger, particularly the type that stems from natural disaster such as flooding or storms. They offer protection, and are often found planted near cemeteries. This month, work on rituals involving healing, growth of knowledge, nurturing and women's mysteries.

Fordicia

The Fordicia, also called Hordicidia, was a Roman festival for the goddess Tellus held on April 15.

This Year April 15th Is Not Tax Day; Its Emancipation Day

Everyone knows April 15th is tax day. But this year, it is also Emancipation Day. This is a holiday in Washington D.C. that frees everyone from having to file their tax return until Monday.

"Most people think today might be the deadline, that's OK because it means they file a little early," said IRS spokesman Michael Devine.

If you still need more time, the IRS says it's not a problem. As long as you file an extension by Monday

Day 103

End of Alder Celtic Tree Month
March 18 - April 14: At the time of the Spring Equinox, or Ostara, the Alder is flourishing on riverbanks, roots in the water, bridging that magical space between both heaven and earth. The Alder month, called Fearn by the Celts, and pronounced fairin, is a time for making spiritual decisions, magic relating to prophecy and divination, and getting in touch with your own intuitive processes and abilities. Alder flowers and twigs are known as charms to be used in Faerie magic. Whistles were once made out of Alder shoots to call upon Air spirits, so it's an ideal wood for making a pipe or flute if you're muscially inclined.

Day 102

The Earth may witness a doomsday catastrophe as early as 2036, as scientists are predicting that a massive asteroid, travelling at the speed of 23,000 miles per hour, to slam into the planet.

If the nearly 275-metre-wide Apophis passes through a narrow gravitational keyhole in April 2029, it will be on course for a massive collision seven years later, most likely on April 13, 2036, the scientists said.
So if 2012 doesn't get us....April 13, 2036 will! I wonder if that's on a Friday?

April 13 is . . . . Blame Somebody Else Day

This must be a republican holiday!

Day 101

Ludi Cereales

Calendar Roman

Date Apr 12 Every year

Description Cerealia was a 7-day holiday celebrated in ancient Rome in honor of the goddess Ceres. The exact dates of the April festival are uncertain: it may have started on April 12 and ended on April 19 (Or it may have started on the Ides of April, i.e. April 13, or even on April 7.)

In Rome, this was the primary festival of Ceres and was accompanied by the Ludi Ceriales or "Games of Ceres" in the Circus Maximus. Ovid's description (Fasti iv.494) mentions that Ceres/Demeter's search for her lost daughter Proserpina was represented by women clothed in white, running about with lighted torches.

Tao Te Ching
Sixty

Ruling the country is like cooking a small fish.
Approach the universe with Tao,
And evil will have no power.
Not that evil is not powerful,

But its powers will not be used to harm others.
Not only will it do no harm to others,
But the sage himself will also be protected.
They do not hurt each other,
And the Virtue in each one refreshes both

Day 98

Woops...forgot to post yesterday
This is for Saturday April 9, 2011

April 9th - A-ma Festival - Portugal and China - A-Ma is a Taoist goddess and is particularly revered in Macau. Also known as Tin Hau, she is the deity of fisher folk and other seafarers. Legend told of the story where a junk, while sailing across the South China Sea, was caught in a tremendous storm and was about to sink. All aboard were terrified but at the last minute, a beautiful young woman stood up and ordered the elements to calm down. It did and the junk reached land safely. This mysterious woman is none other than the Goddess A-Ma. A temple was built on the spot where she landed and it is still there to this day, on the Inner Harbor. The name Macau came to be when many centuries later, when Portuguese soldiers asked for the name of the place, the locals replied "A-Ma-Gao" (Bay of A-Ma). It was eventually shortened to Macau. In recent times, a statue of A-Ma was erected on the highest point of Coloane Island. During the A-Ma Festival, offerings are made. There are also performances of Chinese opera.

April 9th - Day of Jarl Hakon - As ruler of the western part of the realm, Hakon restored the worship of the Old Gods and left the alien religion of Christianity. In the process, the common folk regained political liberties which were erased under the Christian yoke, and the flame of our Troth burned brighter in an era of gathering gloom. It may be that Hakon's defense of our ancestral ways helped encourage the survival of our traditions in Iceland, where they eventually became the seeds of modern day Asatru. On this day, reflect on how the actions of the individual can impact world events and the future of our people and way of life.

Lyrics to Workin for a Livin by Huey Lewis and the News

Somedays won't end ever and somedays pass on by,

I'll be working here forever, at least until I die.
Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't
I'm supposed to get a raise week, you know damn well I won't.

Workin' for a livin' (workin')
Workin' for a livin' (workin')
Workin' for a livin', livin' and workin'
I'm taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a livin'.

Hey I'm not complaining 'cause I really need the work
Hitting up my buddy's got me feeling like a jerk
Hundred dollar car note, two hundred rent.
I get a check on Friday, but it's all ready spent.

Workin' for a livin' (workin')
Workin' for a livin' (workin')
Workin' for a livin', livin' and workin'
I'm taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a livin'.

Bus boy, bartender, ladies of the night
Grease monkey, ex-junky, winner of the fight
Walking on the streets its really all the same
selling souls, rock n' roll, any other day

Workin' for a livin' (workin')
Workin' for a livin' (workin')
Workin' for a livin', livin' and workin'
I'm taking what they giving 'cause I'm working for a livin'.

Day 95

North Pole was discovered in 1898
How can someplace be "discovered" if it has always been there.

Does Santa really live there?
I believe he does.

Nothing Between Me And The North Pole

On days like this

The wind strips whole trees bare,

Drifts leaves in ragged piles,

Roars past roof tops,

Steals my breath when I turn my face;

And I, too, feel bare, exposed,

Stripped of town-bred thoughts,

Naked to the plains where I was born,

Nothing between me and the North Pole

But a three-wire fence in Montana,

And someone left the gate open.

John I. Blair

Many Latter-day Saints believe that April 6 was the actual date of Christ’s birth. This belief is based on the first verse of an 1830 revelation to Joseph Smith indicating the date for officially restoring the Church.

How can that be true?
Santa comes to town on December 24th!

Event Date: April 04, 1969

Event Type: Protest

I remember watching their television show and it becoming one of our favorites! One of the first concerts I went to was a Foothill Jr College to see Pat Paulson. Remember Paulson for President?

Protest Song '68

To sing you must first open your mouth.
You must have a pair of lungs and a little knowledge of music.
It is not necessary to have an accordion, or a guitar.
The essential thing is that I want to sing.
Then this is a song, I'm singing."

[-H. Miller]

Well some things never change...
You'll never see this face again,
I'm out sleeping with the stars in the shallow end.
'Life' ('love') is just a word I don't want to say,

I don't care if tomorrow is a new day.
I'll write the song again,
How about the one who thought life wasn't his friend?
Why would he want the words to be shared?
When no one listens, and no one cares.

I'd skip this fucking song
if you don't want to know whats fucking wrong.
Did you hear my acceptance speech?
I quit. I quit. i fucking quit."

You don't want to know why i can't quite talk.
You don't want to know what makes my heart stop.

You wrote my requiem
with no words, no life, just desperation.
There's no truth like the lie I live
I'm a sinking ship drowning by a burning bridge.

There's no cure for the "Dreamer's Disease"
I'm a boat of false hope, lost at sea.
Today, tonight, tomorrow,
I am truly by myself.

you don't want to know why I can't quite talk.
you dont want to know what makes my heart stop.

You say those fucking words, but what the fuck do they mean? Nothing.
Life is just a word that I won't say.
Love is just a word that I'll never know.
Life is just a game that I wont play.
Love is just a lie that I wont believe

Day 92

Sacred Space

By David Stanley Bell

Away
from the drama
this daily soap opera, life?

Away
from the conformity
the patterns that seek to possess me

Away
from the gold and steel
that line these prison walls

Excuse me while I go away
into myself
into my sacred space

My honor, my duty to myself
not that I may selfishly hoard
but that I may reconnect
to the divine

in the core of my being
that I may grow and thrive
in the love and light
of all creation

only then
can I give
with quality

To survive the cloak of darkness
which gathers around me
I must confront my own darkness
and love all that I am
the sinner, the saint
the flesh, the spirit
the man, the deity
the healer must first
heal himself

I must maintain
I must rejuvenate
these flowing lines
that define
who I am

You once knew me
as who you wanted me to be
paralyzed with fears
but now
I have mended my wings

I rise above
the haze of illusion
to soar with eagles
to kiss the face of angels
and tumble among clouds

Light of the creation
I draw you in
with every breath

I share
the pangs of evolution
the ecstasy of oneness
every step I take
is a sacred action

I can shine
and overflow
for those who wish
to fill their cup
only because

I respect
my sacred space.

Day 91

The Fortune-Teller by Thomas Moore

Down in the valley come meet me to-night,
And I'll tell you your fortune truly

As ever 'twas told, by the new-moon's light,
To a young maiden, shining as newly.

But, for the world, let no one be nigh,
Lest haply the stars should deceive me,

Such secrets between you and me and the sky
Should never go farther, believe me.

If at that hour the heavens be not dim,
My science shall call up before you

A male apparition -- the image of him
Whose destiny 'tis to adore you.

And if to that phantom you'll be kind,
So fondly around you he'll hover,

You'll hardly, my dear, any difference find
'Twixt him and a true living lover.

Down at your feet, in the pale moonlight,
He'll kneel, with a warmth of devotion --

An ardour, of which such an innocent sprite
You'd scarcely believe had a notion.

What other thoughts and events may arise,
As in destiny's book I've not seen them,

Must only be left to the stars and your eyes
To settle, ere morning, between them.

Day 90

Veneralia
The Veneralia (April 1) was the Ancient Roman festival of Venus Verticordia ("Changer of hearts"), the goddess of love and beauty. The worship of the goddess Fortuna Virilis ("Bold fortune") was also part of this festival.

April fools / Loki's day

In Rome, women removed jewelry from the statue of the goddess, washed her, and adorned her with flowers, and similarly bathed themselves in the public baths wearing wreaths of myrtle on their heads. It was generally a day for women to seek divine help in their relations with men

April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. It is sometimes called Lokis day amongst heathens though this is not a historical name for this event.

The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible. In some countries, April Fools' jokes (also called "April Fools") are only made before noon on April 1st. It is also widely celebrated on the Internet
