Day 364 Happy New Year

As you can tell I am off a day. Somewhere during the year I missed a day. Oh well, I will try and do better next year. This is why I need to post eveyday, even if it's just a picture. That way I don't miss one.
This coming year will be full of challenges for me. Hard ones, some to the extreme and some will be new and exciting. I will be looking for some advise and friendly support to make it through them.
Tonight I will be working on my resolutions. I will be listing them on Listology and then seeing how many I have or have not accomplished. Hopefully more than last year.
I signed up for unemployment today. Here in Spokane it is all done online. We also went out in the frigid cold and did our grocery shopping. Very slippy and slidey out on the roads today. We received 2 movies from Netflix. We still have Robin Hood with Russell Crowe to watch from last week. Did some tv watching, mostly shows that were DVR'd. Episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Full Throttle.
Thank you Vikki and Linda for your comments. You both have become so special to me.

Day 360

A very quiet day after Christmas for us. Jerry left for Seattle this morning. Sending out safe driving wishes, especially over the passes. We will miss you Jerry, see you next time you pass through.
Made brunch for us and Chris. After that, absolutely nothing accomplished.
I took a long winter's nap this afternoon. I woke to cold rain outside. A definite determent to going anywhere. Maybe tomorrow I will be more ambitious.

Day 359 Christmas Day

It was a nice quiet Christmas Day. Feeling pretty good today. We made a few decisions of where we are heading these coming few months and feel good about that too.
We got out of the house because the sun was shining and for once not snowing. Dropped off the car payment and then drove out by Green Bluff and found the view to be a winter wonderland. The wheat fields are blanketed with snow and you could see the deer and other critters tracks in the snow. So pretty in the bright sun. We even saw a temperature sign in town that read 50 degrees. But more snow on the way for Monday. So better enjoy it while we can.
Enjoyed talking with Carol and then later DK. I will call Steve and Althea tonight.
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I am ready to kick 2010 to the curb and move forward to 2011. It will be a bumpy year for us, but, I think we are strong enough to ride the bumps and land on our feet again.

Friday, December 24, 2010

Day 358

Happy Christmas Eve!!!
We went to the Yuppy Puppy and had the pups groomed. From there we ventured south and bought the Tamales for dinner.
Drove out and looked at two rental places that were advertised. We liked them both. So we will set up appointments to actually take tours. Not done looking, we want to find the perfect place.
Came home from picking up the dogs and had, oh yeah you guessed it, tamales. Took a nice long nap.
It will be a quiet Christmas Eve for us. Nice!

Day 355 Happy Yule

The sun is returning to us and the days will now grow longer each day. Michael set up the tree for me and I decorated it with all our collected favorite ornaments.
Our garage door broke and they cannot come to fix it until tomorrow. Good thing I had not planned on getting out and going anywhere.
The doctor's office called and cancelled the appointment for tomorrow.
Dora, it is wonderful that you knew what this picture represented. Sending you many blessings for Yule and the year forward.

Day 352

Had so many errands planned to do this morning, but, it started snowing and sticking earlier than forecasted. So I will need to put them off till when I can drive the 4x4. There are accidents all over town. Michael said roads are very icy. So I can spend the day getting the sport ready for the tree and packing up some stuff.

Day 350

I accomplished the first step in the moving process. I actually got out of the house today and went and rented the storage unit. Now we can start boxing up stuff, donating and throwing away. I think I will start with the closets first.
I need to finish my holiday cards. I got some done and mailed. Tomorrow I will venture out and buy stamps and return books to the library. All before it starts snowing again.

Day 349

Went to the doctor's office... good news - still in rythym!!

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Monday, December 13, 2010

Day 347

Tagged along with Michael to his early appointment at Inland Imaging. That was 2 hours.
Next stop was to buy me some new shoes at Rizzuto's Wide Shoes. Seems none of my shoes, except my snowboots fit anymore. I bought some nice New Balance walking shoes. Thanks Karen for your excellent customer service.
Our next and last stop was at Costco. I actually walked the whole store - front to back. Maybe my foot is getting a little better.
When we got home we watched the movie Date Night. It was pretty funny. Tina Fey is the bomb! We gave it 4 stars.
Chris came over for dinner and I made hamburgers. You cannot beat fresh Costco hamburger. It's the best!

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Day 345

Still in rythym. I think I overdid it today. Tomorrow will be better because Michael will be home all day!

Friday, December 10, 2010

Day 344

The cardioversion was a success. My heart is back in rythym. Now the trick is to keep it that way.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Day 341

Calling for a rain/snow mix for this afternoon. I'm hoping for rain to wash some of this snow berm away.
I went to the foot doctor today. I liked him. He fitted me with a heel cup and took xrays. No bone spur or any abnomalties, Just two large fissures where the skin split. He gave me a script for a new cream. He also gave me a script for my legs, but, because of the other medicine I'm taking I cannot take his prescribed pills. Darn!
Tomorrow is my protime and ekg. Then today I scheduled my 4th cardioversion for Thursday.

Day 337

Another day of absolutely nothing to report of any importance.
Did receive my refund for my 401K balance. Worked out a $100.00 credit that is due us from one of Michael's doctors.
Dexter season 4 was put back in our "saved" list because something was wrong with the dics. Bummer. They shipped Sorceror's Apprentice.
Started checking on storage units...

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Day 336

Michael got up early and picked up my medicine. The side streets are still really bad. Lots of people getting stuck. The plows came by and left huge boulders of snow across the entrance to our street. Impossible for small cars to maneuver through. I even seen pick up trucks getting stuck. And it's not even winter yet.

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Day 335

Seemed like the whole day I moved in slow motion. I finally did get ready for Michael to pick me up to go to the doctors. The rate showed good so I can start the new medicine before performing the new procedure - Next Thursday.
The side streets are so bad with ice and slush we will pick up the medicine tomorrow.
I watched the new show Storage Wars on A&E and then went to bed early.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Day 334

I had a terrible day. Lots of leg pain. Yesterday I was doing so well.
I had a mini meltdown. I thought I was stronger than that. I just feel I am losing who I am with each day.
I did get some things done like making appointments and doing a few things around the house. Very few things.
It snowed all day. All day with no let up. Now they are claiming we broke a record for the snowiest November ever. Thrilled. I'm ready for a chinook to blow through and melt it all.
There was a good thing too: We received our first disc of Season 4 of Dexter! Yay!

Monday, November 29, 2010

Day 333

A day full of doctor appointments for both of us. But we forgot to pick up Sammie's medicine. Just flat ran out of time.
No snow today which made driving around town a little easier. But when we got home our mailbox was frozen shut with layers of ice. Mailman could not deliver our movie. Tomorrow then.
Good Things: The lilies from my Thanksgiving bouquet Michael brought me are starting to open up. So pretty.
Applebee's for lunch. 2 for $20.00 - so much food, we have enough for dinner as well. Great service and good food.
Clean sheets on the bed helps you sleep much more sweetly.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Day 332

Stayed in all day and kept warm.
Watched the last disc of Deadwood. I am so sad that they cancelled that show too soon.
First disc of season 4 of Dexter should arrive tomorrow.

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Day 331

Why does just looking at snow make you even colder? It finally quit and I think we have about a foot on the ground. The older I get the less patience I have for winter.
The sky is a purplish color. I wonder what that means.
The picture I chose today has hidden pictures within it. Can you find them?

Day 329 Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. It is just Michael and I this year. We chose to have a spaghetti dinner.
Watched the 2nd to last disc of Deadwood. I talked to DK which was nice.
It was a nice quiet relaxing holiday.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Day 328

Went to the doctor appointment. Another procedure in 2 weeks. If this doesn't work we are not sure there is anything else we can do. So disheartening.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Day 327

I watched the snow blow and stayed warm. It was so cold. Looks like it's not going to get any warmer in a while.
Hung around home all day filling out paperwork, sending emails, playing on Facebook and watching tv.
The father and son team of Tim's Hauling came buy and I paid them to clear the sidewalks. It was a good thing because Chris' snowblower has broken.
We all had an exciting dinner of hot dogs and fries and then to bed around 10ish.

Monday, November 22, 2010

Day 326

Big snow and oh so cold. It will be 2 degrees in the morning.
Afternoon...blizzard warning with blowing snow. Praying that the electricity stays on all night.
Feeling a little better today. I made potato leek soup for dinner. Chris joined us.
I've been reading a book I got from the library by Katie Brown titled Celebrates. I like her PBS show that is on the Create channel. The book has ideas and recipes for holidays for each month. She had the best recipe for corn fritters. That is one I will definitely try.

Day 324

Its been a hell of a few days as you can see by lack of posts. Maybe tomorrow I will write more.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Day 321

Things accomplished today: Dropped off all the shred I could find, bought and took Michael lunch, mailed bills and came home and made Texas hash for dinner.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Day 319

I went to the dermatologist. I really did not like this doctor. He seems overworked and lazy. I kept asking him questions and I would only get confusing, so-so answers. I'm thinking good doctors are few and far between. No biopsy needed just a prescription for different creme.
TV news - Hallmark channel is playing Christmas movies 24-7 till Christmas. On Dec 1st the ABC Family channel will start playing Christmas movies 24-7 til the Dec 25th.
I will miss going to the black Friday sales this year. Makes me sad. Used to have so much fun with my friends going to all of our favorite stores.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Day 318

I actually felt pretty good all day. Michael took me to breakfast and then to Walmart in Airway Heights. I was able to walk from the front to the back of the store before giving it up.
We even stopped at the regular grocery store. I got the prescriptions and Michael did the rest of the shopping. So progress was made today.
Chris came for supper. We had hamburgers and steak fries. I actually cooked.
Overnight we had a huge wind/rain storm. Winds were clocked at 60 mph or better. The electricity stayed on and the trees were still all upright, so all is good.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Day 317

I have always loved the lyrics to this Beatles song: Let It Be
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Day 316

First snow of the season. Nothing sticking, but, its a wet cold light snow.

Friday, November 12, 2010

Day 315

It is so cold outside I decided to stay in all day and let the craziness of Spokane stay out there. Police shooting and killing people, pedestrians being runned over and the season of shoplifters begining. Can you tell I have a police scanner?

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Day 314 Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day. Started my day out with a visit to the doctor to have a protime done.
We stopped at IHop for breakfast in honor of Michael and Veterans Day. What a busy place. It was rockin. Such a great staff!!
Finished completing the Avandia paperwork and it is ready for the mailman to pickup.
Second doctor appointment with Dr Ryan (dermatologist). Next visit with him is next Tuesday.
I am done running around for the day and now I'm home where it is warm. We are expecting snow overnight.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Day 313

No snow as predicted, which is a good thing. But it is wintery cold.
Being in the hospital gets you used to a routine. Blood draw at 3:00 am; vitals 4:00 am, meds, doctor rounds 7:00 am and breakfast around 9:00 am. Now that I am home again it's nice to get up when I want and do what I want.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Day 312

The medicine and procedure was a failure. I am sad and depressed. Now waiting for Plan D. The doctor did not show up yesterday as planned to discuss this. I believe I am going home today and that is a good thing.
Thank you to all the great nurses and staff including Karen, Nicole, Kelly, Nicole and Mitch. You have been the BEST!
A dusting of snow is predicited for overnight. Go figure.
It's been almost a year since I was diagnosed with Afib. I need to find a way to get well or I will die of this.
Took the dogs to the groomer. They were smelling something awful. Thank you Aquila! They look and smell so sweet.
