Day 334

I had a terrible day. Lots of leg pain. Yesterday I was doing so well.
I had a mini meltdown. I thought I was stronger than that. I just feel I am losing who I am with each day.
I did get some things done like making appointments and doing a few things around the house. Very few things.
It snowed all day. All day with no let up. Now they are claiming we broke a record for the snowiest November ever. Thrilled. I'm ready for a chinook to blow through and melt it all.
There was a good thing too: We received our first disc of Season 4 of Dexter! Yay!

Day 333

A day full of doctor appointments for both of us. But we forgot to pick up Sammie's medicine. Just flat ran out of time.
No snow today which made driving around town a little easier. But when we got home our mailbox was frozen shut with layers of ice. Mailman could not deliver our movie. Tomorrow then.
Good Things: The lilies from my Thanksgiving bouquet Michael brought me are starting to open up. So pretty.
Applebee's for lunch. 2 for $20.00 - so much food, we have enough for dinner as well. Great service and good food.
Clean sheets on the bed helps you sleep much more sweetly.

Day 332

Stayed in all day and kept warm.
Watched the last disc of Deadwood. I am so sad that they cancelled that show too soon.
First disc of season 4 of Dexter should arrive tomorrow.

Day 331

Why does just looking at snow make you even colder? It finally quit and I think we have about a foot on the ground. The older I get the less patience I have for winter.
The sky is a purplish color. I wonder what that means.
The picture I chose today has hidden pictures within it. Can you find them?

Day 329 Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. It is just Michael and I this year. We chose to have a spaghetti dinner.
Watched the 2nd to last disc of Deadwood. I talked to DK which was nice.
It was a nice quiet relaxing holiday.

Day 328

Went to the doctor appointment. Another procedure in 2 weeks. If this doesn't work we are not sure there is anything else we can do. So disheartening.

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Day 327

I watched the snow blow and stayed warm. It was so cold. Looks like it's not going to get any warmer in a while.
Hung around home all day filling out paperwork, sending emails, playing on Facebook and watching tv.
The father and son team of Tim's Hauling came buy and I paid them to clear the sidewalks. It was a good thing because Chris' snowblower has broken.
We all had an exciting dinner of hot dogs and fries and then to bed around 10ish.

Monday, November 22, 2010

Day 326

Big snow and oh so cold. It will be 2 degrees in the morning.
Afternoon...blizzard warning with blowing snow. Praying that the electricity stays on all night.
Feeling a little better today. I made potato leek soup for dinner. Chris joined us.
I've been reading a book I got from the library by Katie Brown titled Celebrates. I like her PBS show that is on the Create channel. The book has ideas and recipes for holidays for each month. She had the best recipe for corn fritters. That is one I will definitely try.

Day 324

Its been a hell of a few days as you can see by lack of posts. Maybe tomorrow I will write more.

Day 321

Things accomplished today: Dropped off all the shred I could find, bought and took Michael lunch, mailed bills and came home and made Texas hash for dinner.

Day 319

I went to the dermatologist. I really did not like this doctor. He seems overworked and lazy. I kept asking him questions and I would only get confusing, so-so answers. I'm thinking good doctors are few and far between. No biopsy needed just a prescription for different creme.
TV news - Hallmark channel is playing Christmas movies 24-7 till Christmas. On Dec 1st the ABC Family channel will start playing Christmas movies 24-7 til the Dec 25th.
I will miss going to the black Friday sales this year. Makes me sad. Used to have so much fun with my friends going to all of our favorite stores.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Day 318

I actually felt pretty good all day. Michael took me to breakfast and then to Walmart in Airway Heights. I was able to walk from the front to the back of the store before giving it up.
We even stopped at the regular grocery store. I got the prescriptions and Michael did the rest of the shopping. So progress was made today.
Chris came for supper. We had hamburgers and steak fries. I actually cooked.
Overnight we had a huge wind/rain storm. Winds were clocked at 60 mph or better. The electricity stayed on and the trees were still all upright, so all is good.

Day 317

I have always loved the lyrics to this Beatles song: Let It Be
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Day 316

First snow of the season. Nothing sticking, but, its a wet cold light snow.

Friday, November 12, 2010

Day 315

It is so cold outside I decided to stay in all day and let the craziness of Spokane stay out there. Police shooting and killing people, pedestrians being runned over and the season of shoplifters begining. Can you tell I have a police scanner?

Day 314 Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day. Started my day out with a visit to the doctor to have a protime done.
We stopped at IHop for breakfast in honor of Michael and Veterans Day. What a busy place. It was rockin. Such a great staff!!
Finished completing the Avandia paperwork and it is ready for the mailman to pickup.
Second doctor appointment with Dr Ryan (dermatologist). Next visit with him is next Tuesday.
I am done running around for the day and now I'm home where it is warm. We are expecting snow overnight.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Day 313

No snow as predicted, which is a good thing. But it is wintery cold.
Being in the hospital gets you used to a routine. Blood draw at 3:00 am; vitals 4:00 am, meds, doctor rounds 7:00 am and breakfast around 9:00 am. Now that I am home again it's nice to get up when I want and do what I want.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Day 312

The medicine and procedure was a failure. I am sad and depressed. Now waiting for Plan D. The doctor did not show up yesterday as planned to discuss this. I believe I am going home today and that is a good thing.
Thank you to all the great nurses and staff including Karen, Nicole, Kelly, Nicole and Mitch. You have been the BEST!
A dusting of snow is predicited for overnight. Go figure.
It's been almost a year since I was diagnosed with Afib. I need to find a way to get well or I will die of this.
Took the dogs to the groomer. They were smelling something awful. Thank you Aquila! They look and smell so sweet.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Day 311

This is procedure day. Hope it goes well. And then home. I'm definitely ready for that.

Day 307

Starting tomorrow I will be in the hospital for 3 days so I will probably not update my blog till I get home. I've decided not to carry the laptop.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Day 306

Beautiful fall day. Alot of leaves have fallen off the trees. Lots of people raking. Makes me glad I don't have a leaf tree in our yard. I would love the shade in the summer, but, I do not like raking leaves.
Went to the doctor today. Going back to the hospital for 3 days starting Friday. Sacred Heart this time. Definitely not Deaconess.
After the appointment I went and picked up my records. All 241 pages worth of them.

Day 305 Election Day

We have turned in our ballots and so now all that is left is the waiting for the returns. It's funny how we form our political views. Most have their views formed by their parents. Some learn from what they read or see on television or talk radio. I was raised to be a democrat-liberal. I was always encouraged to ask questions and learn about who and what I was voting for. Later as I got older and actually learned what I believe to be my political self, I remain a liberal democrat. The republicans have always been for big money and I seem to never agree with their policies or beliefs.
I have grown sick of the partisan fighting and the negative campaigns. Why would someone pay millions of dollars to have a job that only pays thousands? I want to believe there are still good people who care about this country and her people that they want to serve and protect. But they are so few and far between.
The tea baggers scare the living daylights out of me. I've paid into social security since I was 14 years old, now when I'm almost ready to retire, they want to do away with it? They want to take away my unemployment insurance, now that I need it? They want to make healthcare harder to get. Seems like they want to take away everything I need now that I'm older. I'm for a flat tax for everyone - they are not. Then you have the one from Nevada who said God chooses who is to be raped and tortured. That definitely is not right. The movie, Distinguished Gentleman, is closer to real political life. I recommend for everyone to watch it.
The older I get the more disgusted I get with politics all together. But, we cannot give up. Too many have come before us who have been jailed and tortured to give us this right. We must VOTE and keep up the good fight. Because if we don't vote, they will take it away and do all by a poll.
So tonight will be interesting to see how it all goes down. We will be up late watching the results come in.

Day 304 Día de los Muertos

When we lived in California we had several occasions to celebrate the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Great music and food. Costumes of skeletons and the colorful decorations including the skulls made of sugar. Thanks Judy for the wonderful picture on FB!
Went to my doctor's appointment today just to learn that the clot is still there. All that pain and expense for NOTHING!
Banner Fuel came and serviced the furnace. Best money we spent ever!
THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!! I know my Dad is looking down from Heaven and is smiling a big smile!!!
