Day 179

Much warmer today. Just a work, work and work some more kind of day.
Too hot to cook, so I stopped and got Zips.
Tomorrow will be a little cooler.

Day 178

The beautiful weather continues... We decided to get out and enjoy some of it. Went geocaching, Found 3 caches. They were the kind you just sign the log and re-hide.
I am always surprised when someone drinks and then gets nasty and say hurtful things, when we get to the next day, they think it is okay because they can't remember and are so surprised by the person still being hurt by their actions. I used to drink, and I could remember everything I said and did - good or bad. So then after you tell the person firmly it will not happen again, they cry and then you are the bad guy and feel you need to apologize. So confusing.

Day 177

Went for pedicures with my mother in law. This time we went to Foxy Nails up in Northpoint which is favorite nail salon. The guy who did my toes was a little rough and kind of hut me enough to make me want to jump out of the chair. I wanted a puppy paw print on my big toe. He messed it up. He should have told me he didn't know what he was doing. I now have to go and get my toes re-painted. After our pedicures we went to lunch at Red Lobster. I had not been to the new one across from Northtown Mall as yet. It was pretty restaurant inside. We did lunch up right. Oysters on the half shell for both and then stuffed sole for me and lobster tail for her.
When I got home I was food stunned. I mostly relaxed and did a few more loads of laundry.
Even with the few incidents of drama it was a nice outing.

Day 176

I am so bummed for the first time this year I missed posting. I know sometimes I only post a picture, but, at least I posted something.
It's finally Friday and the weather is absolutely gorgeous. Hoopfest is going on downtown and Ironman is going on in CDA, So looks like we will be avoiding both those places. Too big of crowds for my liking.
Jewelry making, laundry and movie watching is on my agenda for the weekend. I don't plan on venturing very far, if at all. Time to get the deck ready for summer. We like to spend time out on our deck eating and BBQ'ing until it gets too warm and too many wasps.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend as well.

Day 173

The rain is gone and has left a beautiful blue sky. I'm ready for some nicer weather.
I am bummed that I won't be able to attend Shirley's funeral. It is in the middle of the day way out in the valley. I cannot get the time off from work. I will be there in spirit.

Day 172

Happy First Day of Summer. And oh yes, it's raining once again.
Didn't sleep well last night. Finally was in a deep sleep this morning and the phone rang waking me from my blissful attempt of sleep. Michael's friend from work was assaulted and robbed right there on the grounds. The place is getting more and more dangerous. M called all the appropriate places and people then hurried down there in case his friend needed anything.
Sometimes I think this town makes it too welcoming for transients. They are allowed to beg on almost every street corner. Our own newspaper did an undercover story and found they probably make more money than we do. We have several shelters that feed them in the morning and then kick them out the door for the day and don't allow them back in till evening. I see them hanging around in front of closed businesses smoking. At $9.00 a pack here in WA can someone please tell me how they can afford that? What's the answer? No clue.

Day 168

Not much going on to talk about. Just work and rain.
An old friend passed away today. She had brain cancer. RIP Shirley. May you be free of pain and hope you are in the arms of your loving husband.

Day 166

Today our little department went to my boss' retirement luncheon. It was held at Anthony's that overlooks the upper falls, which were in their full roaring glory today.
Almost 2 years ago I answered an ad for a temporary job. At the time I had a full time permanent position, so, it was a leap of faith of finding somewhere I would be happier. I was so happy when they hired me I couldn't wait to begin. I soon was hired permanently and the job even got better.
My supervisor has impressed me everyday with her patience, generosity, knowledge and kindness. She has supported me in the best of times and the not so good of times. This job has taught me to love going to work everyday again. I have not felt this since Geometrics, way back when.
I will miss her so much. Not only for the traits I listed above, but, she has been a buffer. I know people come and people go...but, I'm just not ready to let go of the best boss I have had.
This morning I finished the necklace set and gave it to her when I got to work. I hope she likes it and will remember me as she starts her new chapter of life.

Day 165

This picture makes me feel like I'm ready to slay the problems of Monday.
It was a bad night. The heart not pumping correctly is not getting the fluids out of my lungs away from my heart. I am so tired of coughing. I wonder how people with asthma handle this. It is only temporary so I will make it through.
Payday, I think, today. Money comes in - payments for bills go out. Easy come - easy go.
Such a beautiful weekend weather-wise. But this morning has a cool stinging breeze bringing rain in for tomorrow.
Watched True Blood and Treme last night. So of course when I did sleep I dreamed of vampires and New Orleans. Both are very good series and I will enjoy them while HBO is only $10 per month for the next 6 months.

Day 164

Somedays you just want to float off and be in peace.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Day 163

I think I wore myself out today. I used to be able to go and go all day long, but, I guess not anymore.
Went to Costco and by miracle made it out of there for $35.00. Usually its $200 or more. Then to Michael's to get things to finish Linda's retirement gift and memory pages for Linda and Judy. Don't you love being assigned craft projects as homework for work? **smile**
Dogs off to the groomer and then I tackled the grocery store. When I got home that was the end. I crashed and took a nap till the dogs were done.
Cleaned and cut the strawberries while watching Billy the Exterminator. Tacos for dinner and then with the Native American flute music playing I drifted to sleep early. It was warm enough to open a window throughout the night. A good restful sleep.

Day 161

Actually went to my appointment at Apria Healthcare. Many said it would not happen. But I promised Dr.Lubbe so I went. At first all they wanted was to fit me with equipment that I did not care for. Made my claustrophobia even worst. But with bluffs of walking out out of the way we agreed on a less invasive device for the sleep apnea. I agreed to try and get used to wearing this contraption.

Came back to work and met our guest Laci who is out contact person for the dental insurance company we work with. Isn't it surprising how you imagine someone and then when you meet they do not look nothing like what you pictured?

Rained off and on most of the day. Dowpour at times. Cleared up once I got home. Took a little drive across the north part of town to pick up dinner. It was actually nice and not many people out and about.

I watched some recorded shows while waiting for M to get off work. Happy Town is slowly becomming my new favorite show.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Day 160

Rained all day off and on, but the temperature did rise to 70 degrees.
Same routine as every work day... not much going on. But I am feeling better.
Seems like all my favorite tv shows are ending their seasons. Justified just finished. But we started watching Deadwood through Netflix. But then a couple of series have started up. The Next Food Network Star and Hoarders. This weekend we have from Netflix more Deadwood, Avatar (I know, I am the last person on the planet who has not seen it) and Crazy Heart. I also broke down and added HBO back to our cable channel roster. True Blood starts Sunday.

Monday, June 7, 2010

Day 158

Started out going up to the clinic to have my protime. It was way out of wack.
Work had installed a new server over the weekend. So we had no email for most of the morning. No use to all the printers and no way to print the deposit reports. Not sure if the deposits even went through to the bank.
Home to meatoaf and bed early.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Day 157

Still not feeling well. Spent most of the day in bed.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Day 156

Not well today. Spent most of the day in bed. Too bad because the weather has been the nicest today than all last week.

Friday, June 4, 2010

Day 155

It is a TGIF kind of day. It rained all day. It made the day feel dreary and damp.
When I got home I made hamburger stroganoff and we watched disc 2 of season 1 of Deadwood.
Not sure what is on the schedule for this weekend. Lots going on around town, but, Saturday will be the only nice day to do anything. More rain coming on Sunday.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Day 154

Honey Bees do not sting, only the worker bees sting you when provoked. Sort of like people.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Day 153

Somedays there is nothing to say. So here is an ee cummings poem I like.

i shall imagine life
is not worth dying, if
(and when) roses complain
their beauties are in vain
but though mankind persuades
itself that every weed's
a rose, roses (you feel
certain) will only smile

Day 152

My day was filled with work and doctor appointments.
We ended the day with pizza and watching Season 1 Disc 1 of Deadwood. We are officially hooked and now want to warch them all.
