The dream continues today for equality for all.It takes special and brave people to bring about change. I feel the politicians we have now are more interested in their own ambitions to want to make a difference. Just look at this wimpy and sad health care reform bill. We gave them in the last election a democratic president and a majority in the congress and senate to really get something historically done. But it seems we are faced with the same old problems of partisan politics and indecision. There has been some small leaps forward in some states where gay rights have made headway. But CA and Proposition 8 have me stumped. I cannot even see why this is in question. As Dr King did in those years past we must stay vigilant that all people must have equal rights.

I know what you mean. It just makes me so mad that our elected officials can't get it through their thick skulls that they work for us. I guess it's because we are all just so busy trying to survive on what we can scrape together, while they vote in new raises for themselves and figure out ways to tax us to death.
Don't forget about sucking up to those lobbyists! One has to suck up where one can if it means lining a pocket or two.
I think that we should kick them all out of office and start over.
We just have to be dilgent, and keep tabs on our government. After all; we put 'em there!
I guess the thing that I get most frustrated with is the lack of conscience among polititians. They are supposed to be stewards of our country, and a lot of them have lost sight of the fact that they are public servants.
I guess it's okay not to worry about health care for all as long as you've got yours; bought and payed for by the very folks who elected you to keep watch.
Okay; I'm stepping off of my soap-box now!
