Day 46

It rained, it snowed and then rained again. Just a dreary day weatherwise.

Started the new job today. This explains the picture...

After work I drove over to the apartment. It's official - we will move in on February 21st, or give it a good start. All the heavy pieces won't be moved until sometime in March.

Michael worked day hours today so we got home about the same time because I had to stop at the store. Yay! Love when he gets off early. Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches tonight. Something easy!

Day 45 Valentine's Day

A cloudy yet breezy day.

Michael took me to The Rusty Moose for our Valentine's Day lunch. I liked the place. Very woodsy. The service was efficient and friendly and the food was good also. It was nice to go out again. We have limited going out to once a month.

I made chilie colorado for dinner. So spicy and yummy.

Day 44

Day 43

Mild and cloudy today. A little windy, but, it felt good.

Michael and I after much discussion have decided to rent the apartment at Canyon Greens. I drove up and took another look at the place and yes, this is the right place. It is only 5 minutes from our jobs and quiet. I gave her a deposit to hold it and will know Monday if we have been approved.

Spent the rest of the day sorting, throwing away and packing.... this will be my life for the next 15 days.

Day 42

Cloudy and cool all day, but, happily no precipitation.

I met Cynthia for lunch. We had fun laughing and catching up on one another's lives.  It was nice.

After lunch I drove to the Canyon apartments. I walked into the rental office and saw that two girls were in the process of renting an apartment. The property manager was going on and on about the "rules" that I lost interest. Maybe she was doing this because they were young...but, if it had been me I would have slapped her. There was all kind of young guys buzzing around and I kept thinking doesn't anyone around here work? So I left without checking on an available apartment and drove up the hill to Canyon Greens where we looked before. The only 2bdrm 2 ba that is available is the one upstairs. The property manager was NICE!

And the place was quiet and the grounds clean and well kept up. I left thinking this is the place.

When Michael got home we discussed the moving and apartment situation. We finally made the decision to take the upstairs unit. We filled out the application online and tomorrow I will go up and give her the deposit to hold the place till we can move in on March 1st.

We will make this work. Now the packing must start in earnest!

Day 41

Another mild winter day with just a little bit of sun thrown in.

Michael stayed home sick again today. I had a doctor appointment. Since November I have lost 51 lbs. Dr Taylor gave me 2 precriptions for my legs and signed my handicap parking certificate. Left the doctor's and went to the Auto Licensing place and got my placard and ID. It's only temporary until August. From there I went to Fred Meyer to get a few things we needed. More cold medicine for Michael and a lunch bag for me.

We had Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner. Didn't feel like cooking and cleaning. Watched Justified!!! I am so happy this show returned! Tim Olyphant is wondermous!!

Day 40

Pockets of sunshine came streaming through our office window. A glimpse of what Spring has in store for us.

Michael called in sick today. Bad cold. He slept most of the day. It was comforting that he was home. I spent the day picking up around the house and scrubbing the bathroom and changing the shower curtain. I need to paint the ceiling. Maybe next weekend.

Chris decided not to join us for dinner. He didn't want to take the chance of getting what Michael has come down with. Smart move. We had a nice steak dinner and went to bed early.

Day 39

I guess you would say we had heavy flurries or snain this morning. There is promise of sunshine this afternoon. I'm holding them to it.

I drove over to Provisional and signed all the paperwork for Group Health. Also went to the interview that I had set up at Farmer's Insurance. It was a come on for being an insurance salesman which I have no desire to be.

Day 38

Cloudy and cold...a blah weather day.

Enjoyed my day with Michael. Ran a few errands, picked up a few things at the grocery store, paid the storage and picked up the mail at Postal Annex. Other than that it was a nice peaceful day.

I got an email from the escrow company I did the phone interview with. They went with another candidate. Dixie called and said that INHS went with another candidate, but, Group Health wants to hire me. That was the Customer Service position I interviewed for last week. So I accepted. I start next Tuesday.

Day 37

Enjoyed the Sunday together. Really didn't accomplish much. We watched the last part of the Superbowl. I was kind of rooting for the Steelers, so it was too bad they lost by so few points. The commericals were fun and best of all we found out Justified is coming back this week. My favorite all time current tv show!!

We got a dusting of snow. They kept saying we were going to and we finally did. Now that is over with, can we get onto Spring?

Day 36

The weather was nice today. High temperature was 45. Lots of pretty sunshine. Hard to believe we will be back to a winter mix by tomorrow. Of course they have lied many times before.

Had to get out and enjoy some of that sunshine. Drove over to Office Depot snd bought some laser copy paper, fine point Sharpees and a white out pen.

You hve to wonder where life has led you when the high spot of your day is going to Office Depot...

The groundhog did not see his shadow so we are in for an early Spring. It cannot come early enough for me and probably for the rest of the country. It has not been a hard winter here, but, just ready to see the trees fill up with green leaves and for flowers to start popping out in people's front yards. Now that I'm feeling better I want to start geocaching again.

I applied at Lincare today, where I worked as a temp so many years ago.

Day 32 St Brigid's Day

Another clear and cold day.

I went to the interview at Group Health. Another call center customer service position. But it does pay at the bottom of my range, so, I would accept it just to get working again. But I would definitely keep looking.

Stopped at Rite Aid on my way home. When I got home I made home made chicken noodle soup and before the guys got home for dinner I made dumplings that cooked on top. It was great for a cold evening.
